Vampire vs. The Strange Vampire

We've unearthed the Sept '81 issue of Terrors of Dracula Vol. 3 #2 (which turned out to be the very last issue of this short-lived Eerie Pub series), for a double header of blood sucker fun. "Vampire" was originally a precode Harvey horror tale and was featured in the Jan '53 issue of Tomb of Terror #7 as "Shadow of Death"--compare to the original version HERE! --while "The Strange Vampire" originally appeared in the Dec '51 issue of Web of Mystery #6 as Ace's "The Vampire's Weird Duel", but unfortunately I don't have that issue for comparison. Anyway, which tale has more bite?

The Zombie's Doom

Here's another one from the August 1952 issue of Forbidden Worlds #8, (see our last post too), art this time by Harry Lazarus who we have featured here at THOIA many many times over the years. And yeah, if anyone is curious, it was indeed a zombie that took a giant bite out of my cover,--thus forever sealing this issue's DOOM! More from this crazy issue in our next post too!

Flaming Horror

As everyone works on adding an extra layer to their midsections and asses today, here's another story about a tubby individual with a whole other set of problems to contend with than just his weight! From the November 1952 issue of Strange Mysteries #8.

Happy Fangsgiving, fiends!

The Boy Who Cried Vampire / Behold the Beast

Concluding our look into the terrific two-issue series of Archies style teenage terrors, from the September 1972 issue of Chilling Adventures in Sorcery as Told By Sabrina #1DeCarlo and Goldberg seriously had a good thing going here with this expertly illustrated / written series (see our last post as well for issue #2 in its entirety), and it's a shame it ended so soon-- though Sabrina of course continued on well into the 80's with her own fun 'n frisky witch comics! And don't forget to check out the other two stories from this issue by clicking HERE after you've read these two-- hope you've enjoyed this look into a somewhat slightly lighter side of The Horrors of it All!
