The Grave Will Not Wait

Like our previous post, today's fateful story is also from the October 1952 issue of The Hand of Fate #12, and it's nicely illustrated by Chic Stone who always seems to totally crush it here at THOIA. So what do you all think? Could you deliver on what 'ol Fate has offered to this poor, doomed idiot? I've also rounded out the post with a graverobbin' one-pager-- a Sy Grudko "True Tales of the Supernatural" quickie from the July 1954 issue of The Beyond #27. One more post to go for the month of July, and FYI: I plan to correct a rather foolish bit of Atlas oversight on my part... I do hope you can forgive me!

Blood Bath

Time to end the month of May with a gory, drug induced, blood bath doom-o-rama as only Chic Stone and the Eerie Pubs could do it, from the December 1969 issue of Weird V3#5. A true fan favorite freak-out that Eerie reprinted no less than 5 more times throughout the 70's. And try not to vomit over Bill Alexander's grindingly gruesome cover! See ya's in J-J-June...

Death Fish / Poor Fish!

It's Double Header Fish Fryday for you today, with both main courses guaranteed to twist their deadly hooks in ya! The first story is from the December 1953 issue of This Magazine is Haunted #14, (the final issue of this spectacular series in fact), with art by Bud Thompson, --followed by a rather painful quickie from the April 1954 issue of The Thing #13, with possible art by Chic Stone. Have a great weekend fiends, and don't choke on any fish bones!

House of Vampires!

I always feel like I cheat you guys when I post a story with a Scooby-Doo ending (check out our last post), so here comes Doll Man again --and this time with darling Doll Girl too!-- to set things right around here at The Horrors of it All with a terrifying tale of REAL bloodthirsty vampires on the loose! From the February 1952 issue of Doll Man #38, art by Chic Stone and Chuck Cuidera (?)

Calling All Ghouls

Let's keep the Ace terror train a'rollin' for a few more posts, as we belt a shivery shout-out for a kooky Chic Stone mad science classic from the May 1953 issue of The Beyond #20.

Priestess of Baal / Sinister Return

We're still screaming for our mommies with the release of my new book this week, MUMMIES, (IDW / Yoe Books) available everywhere NOW, or order a couple online HERE (and FYI: I have a few extras to spare as well if anyone wants to order one directly from me just send an email) --but seriously, what better way to celebrate the holidays this year than with the colorfully wrapped gift of wrapped, reeking corpses! Now while neither of today's classics made the final edit of the book, both are still pretty great in their own evil ways, starting off with Bob Forgione's strangely sexy "The Priestess of Baal" from the Oct '52 issue of Weird Horror's #3, and followed by an encore presentation of "The Sinister Return of the Priestess of Baal" (no relation to the Forgione story) from the Nov '52 issue of Baffling Mysteries #11, art by Chic Stone. I've also spiced up this post with pix of Lana Turner as the Priestess of Baal from MGM's 1955 film epic, The Prodigal!
