Maker of Monsters!

One last post for October 2024, and of course as promised, it's the fourth and final petrifyin' Plastic Man horror tale, as part of our "Spotlight Character of the Month!" And like our las Plas story, it's also from the March 1953 issue of Plastic Man #40 (what an issue btw!) and features even more incredible, action packed monster art mayhem, and laugh-out-loud lines of dialog. Ghoul of Ghost Swamp!!

Time for our third round of "Plas 'n Woozy Meet the Monsters" this month, as we continue plastically pummelin' onward with a super soggy, ghoulishly ghostly, and horrifically humorous entry from the March 1953 issue of Plastic Man #40. The Hounds of Horror!

Time for another petrifyin' installment of Plastic Man, this month's "Spotlight Character" vs. the super duper natural, and like the previous Plas entry HERE, this tale also comes from the January 1953 issue of Plastic Man #39. Fun stuff as ever, with all the great artwork and Bill Woolfolk writing you've come to expect from this classic series. The Stairway to Madness!

As many of you know I don't really post a lot of superhero stuff here, and when I do it's usually a tale involving some type of supernatural shenanigans, explainable or not. A perfect example is this fantastically illustrated / written satanic haunted house story from the January 1953 issue of Plastic Man #39, --one that concludes leaving even Plas scratchin' his 'ol rubber noggin' in perplexity! Spooky, funny, and just non-stop great dialog, art, and action-- plus since it's October I've decided to make Plastic Man the "Spotlight Character of the Month" and give you a few more of his eeriest adventures sprinkled around for the next few weeks-- so stay tombed for that! Did anyone ever dress up as Plastic Man for Halloween?

The Witch of Wailing Woods

Let's get June 2024 a'rockin' and a'rollin' with a hero vs. horror leftover that I had scheduled to post a few months back-- it's Plastic Man and his pudgy pal Woozy vs. a deadly voodoo doll dabblin, va-va-va-voom vvitch in a haunted house of fist pummelin' hilarity! Plus: bats, cats, a brutal goon duo, and even a couple of werewolves (which I guarantee you are not pronouncing correctly!) Great writing and wonderful, wild art, --I mean, it's not Jack Cole but it's pretty dang close thanks to the superb team-up of Alex Kotzky and Chuck Cuidera on pencils and inks! Guaranteed action-packed plasticity and fright-filled fun from the July 1953 issue of Plastic Man #42.

The Curse of Monk Mauley + Woozy!

I always get requests for "More Jack Cole!", but I think I've pretty much exhausted my precode Cole horror supply at this point-- so what's the next best thing to do? Why, we dig into the supernatural superhero shenanigans of everyone's favorite laffy taffy human spazzy-- Plastic Man! That's what we do! I've even included a quickie bonus tale featuring his silly sidekick, Woozy Winks running into some kooky spooks! Now, GCD doesn't list either of these stories as being illustrated by Cole, but look at those rotten living dead, the skeletons, the Devil, the lay-outs etc... --just look! See what you guys think, as our first story is from the Nov '52 issue of Plastic Man #38, (with creepy cover recycling by Alex Kozky), and the second tale is from the Jan '53 issue of Plastic Man #39.
