Here's another expertly illustrated tale of creeping, cursed terror, especially in the gnarly, 'ol killer tree department! Lots of atmospheric lay-outs and nice detail by Ruben Moreira, though most of the dialog is a bit unintentionally hilarious: ("Those two love birds must be mangled and dead by now!") haha, that line really cracked me up. From the August 1952 issue of Adventures into Darkness #5, plus a spooky little bonus one-pager from the same issue.

Man Who Murdered Himself / Stamps of Doom!
If you enjoyed the awesome Frank Robbins tale in our last post, here are a few other gems from the winter '74-75 issue of House of Mystery #228 as well. Our first story is from legendary Berni Wrightson, and it's a fun little quickie that feels more like a pre code Atlas terror tale than the usual stuff from DC of this era. Followed by a rousingly exciting Ruben Moreira doomer with a nice body count and some interesting death scenarios. When you're done here head on over to my other blog by clicking HERE for some additional filler fun from this issue including Sergio Aragones gags, Halloween Monster Cards, and more!

Horror's Little Acre
Here's another nicely illustrated Standard Comics spooker loaded with chills and atmosphere, originally presented in the August 1952 issue of Adventures into Darkness #5, which is, (for anyone wishing to complain about scans on a FREE blog), another issue that I temporarily do not own. So! --from the completely acceptable re-colored version via Eclipse Comics' great 80's Seduction of the Innocent series (issue #2), and featuring fantastic artwork signed by Ruben Moreira.
