HAUNTED HORROR #31 / IF...

HAUNTED HORROR #31 is in stores TODAY, and it's full of hairy 'n scary 'n scaly terrors, plus a couple of oddly titled classics that have been featured here at THOIA in the past, (but you know you love revisiting the most revolting of 'em again anyway!) --and we have both featured here today as part of our Double December xmas posts, aka an encore presentation for you long time, lifelong regulars. So pick up the current issue NOW for all of the other deadly details and deceaseries, and decompositions, and downright death riddled... derrrrrrr... sorry, I ran out of kooky Karswell korn.

Demon's Doom

From the final issue of Farrell Publication's Strange Fantasy series, the Oct - Nov '54 issue of Strange Fantasy #14 to be exact. This is a super weird issue of stories, (check the archive for the ultra brutal "Meet Me in the Tomb"), but there's also a goofy ghost western, and a truly bizarre monster from another world tale-- all coming up later this week! Stay tombed...

Jeb's Bloody Ghost

Yet another Eerie Pub remake / redraw of a classic precode horror tale, and from the same issue of Terrors of Dracula that we've been creepin' through all this month (see our previous posts) --now, where as most of you have been pleased with the updated artwork we've presented thus far, I am fairly certain this time you'll be less than enthusiastic-- though revamping anything originally illustrated by the vastly superior hand of Jack Cole is likely to never stand a chance of being on par, even from someone as interestingly talented as Marchionne. After you read today's post, click HERE to see the original Jack Cole version, "Hangman's Horror" which first appeared in the January 1953 issue of Web of Evil #2 --and more recently reprinted in our Jack Cole's Deadly Horror collection, as well as Haunted Horror #3, (IDW / Yoe Books.)

The Hanged Man

I didn't mean to leave you all "hanging" at the climax of our last post, so let's pick up where we sort of left off with a Steve Ditko request that I meant to get to a few weeks ago-- here ya go, Dave-- it's a spooky little tale from the Oct '69 issue of The Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves #16. Happy 4th of July, everyone!

COMPLETE VOODOO VOL. 1 / Gallow's Curse

Coming in October 2015, (and just in time for Halloween too!), Howlin' Mike Howlett returns to IDW / Yoe Books in a terrifying tag team-up with Uncle Craig for the first in an ongoing series of sickening full-run, pre-code horror collections! Complete Voodoo Volume One has all the lurid, pulpy gore and good girl art that anyone could ever (or never) hope to ask for! These infamous Iger Shop classics have been covered extensively here at THOIA over the years, so you know you're in for an awesome series of books! Today I've included a crazy puppet story from the January 1954 issue of Voodoo #13, (don't forget to check our previous post as well!) and click HERE for more info on this upcoming Chilling Archives of Horror Collection, and to pre-order your copy NOW!

If the Noose Fits - Wear It!

Because you screamed for it--- Witch Hangings! From the May 1952 issue of Dark Mysteries #6. We'll be taking a look at a few more stories from this issue in the next couple of posts as well. *cackles*

Due to unforseen circumstances earlier in the week I've decided to extend the DRAW ME CONTEST entry date (originally set for midnight tonight) to Sunday, Oct. 25th at midnight, so you still have a few more days to get your artwork in to me. I also want to thank everyone who has entered so far because there are some really fabulous submissions! It's gonna be a tough vote for sure! For more info check "The Gypsy's Curse" post from last Thursday.
