Yet another Atlas comic containing two similarly themed tales of heady horror within one issue, and this time they're both from the Nov '52 issue of Adventures into Weird Worlds #12. And we end out the month with another double (be)header-- and another great Bill Everett cover too! Hope everyone enjoyed this fright-filled February! See ya's in March!

Too Horrible / How Beautiful?

The May 1953 issue of Adventures into Weird Worlds #18 utilized the tricky old "Eye of the Beholder" / covering of the face for added drama routine most famously seen in the classic Twilight Zone episode, in not one, but two stories in this issue. (FYI: The TZ episode didn't actually air until 1962.) And as creepily clever as Atlas is, they managed to make each tale in today's Double Header uniquely fun, and also frighteningly funny at the same time. And dig that spooky Bill Everett cover too!

Lost!

It's been awhile since we've seen an Atlas post, so here's a queer little quickie from the July 1952 issue of Adventures into Weird Worlds #8. And maybe we'll go ahead and finish out the month with a few more creepy Atlas classics as well-- so stay tombed!

The Vampire Fog

Earlier this month marked the 40th anniversary release of one of my all time favorite John Carpenter films, The Fog (1980.) I'm sure I don't need to recap the movie here as it's quite the supernatural classic, so instead enjoy this similarly themed tale of foggy fright on the high seas of horror, from the June 1952 debut issue of St. Johns Weird Horrors #1.

Vampire Bride

Time to really nail this month long theme right where it counts-- with a blood lusting vampire bride on the loose tale, from the May 1952 issue of Web of Mystery #9. Happy Valentine's Day everyone, hope it's filled with plenty of X's and O's! And chocolaty coffins and creme-filled crypts too!
