If the penthouse a few posts ago wasn't haunted enough for ya, then try this place on for shiverin' size! I'm sure you'll definitely find it to be much more in the spirit of things from the great, ghostly beyond! And from the July 1953 issue of Chamber of Chills #18, with an atmospherically attractive art team-up by John Giunta and Manny Stallman too!

Vampire Moon
Ever see the superb old Twilight Zone episode called "The Grave" starring Lee Marvin and Strother Martin? Those of you familiar with that wonderfully atmospheric horror western themed ep (no spoilers please) may immediately recognize the similarity in the twist of today's Transylvanian set post. Originally presented in the February 1944 issue of Suspense Comics #2, with early art from John Guinta --and for yet another filmed variation of Leo Rosten's short story, "The Path Through the Cemetery", and one that's a bit modernized and more in tune with THOIA's mid century mausoleum vibe, check out the ultra low budget, fraternity prank gone wrong fright flick from 1962 called Ring of Terror.

The Seal of Satan
You only have to see the word "Satan" in a title to know how this one's going to turn out for some poor schmuck-- but of course half the fun is getting (down) there! It also helps to have a sizzling hot dose of sexy artwork from Stallman and Giunta! Where's that pen-- sign me up!

"King of the Living Dead!"
It doesn't get much more pulp action horror overload than the final tale from the April - May '54 reprint issue of Eerie #15 (check the archive for "Werewolf of Warsham Manor!", "Subway Horror!" "Monster from the Pit" --plus other details about this issue's origins = COMPLETE ISSUE!) And speaking of Eerie, check out the new Wally Wood Crime & Horror book coming out later this month!

The Ugly Duckling
The March 1954 issue of Chamber of Chills #22 kicks off with this demented little terror tale... a tale that seems to have possibly made an impact on Canadian filmmaker Julian Roffman, as the spooky skull image in the splash panel below seems nearly identical to the cursed mask in his 1961 cult film classic "The Mask."

Up Pops the Devil!
December is here, the holiest, most inspirational month of the year. And to honour all things held sacred this holiday season, THOIA has decided to host an entire month devoted to The Devil. Sounds like Hell you say? Perfect. So come with us now as we resurrect Mister Lucifer in his less than flattering, (black)magical debut from the 1946 issue of Spook Comics #1. GCD notes that the John Giunta pencils are possibly inked by Frank Frazetta. What's everyone think?

Demons of the Night
From the June 1952 issue of Chamber of Chills #9 comes this typically goofball Harvey story about a dude bringing fictional characters to life right from the pages of a children’s storybook (to serve his evil purpose of course.) This clichéd story concept is always so ridiculously entertaining to me that I thought I’d give you another one tomorrow from ACG that is pretty much just like it.
