A Scream in the Dark!

Love is in the scare all this month, and we mean it, seriously-- it's so strong you can smell it! But *yawn* maybe we've done this all before, so how about we try something different? Say, maybe a 25 cent ride through the 'ol Tunnel of Love'll do the trick? Mr. Karswell highly recommends that you give it a whirl, you might even come out the other side as a totally changed person. From the January 1953 issue of Mystic #16.

Death's Bridal Gown

You're not getting off that easy with just one weird wedding dress post this month! And this one from the February 1953 issue of Adventures into Darkness #8 just might actually out-weird the previous one-- see what you think! Also, you chemical experts are encouraged to weigh in on the plausibility of one climactic detail. PLUS! A fun crossword puzzle from the same issue rounds out the post!

Murder Will Out! / Terror in the Tropics

Whatever it was the Atlas bullpen had against blondes back in the pre-code days we'll never know, but one thing is for certain-- it's totally time for another long awaited / request filled THOIA Atlas Fest! And this time we pose this simple, themed question: "Do blondes really have more fun?" (ANSWER: Definitely not this week!) Our first traumatizin' tale is from the July '53 issue of Uncanny Tales #10, while the second is another warm-hearted charmer from the Feb '53 issue of Suspense #27.

The Face from the Future!

And finally wrapping up our Black Magic Fest this week, from the June-July 1951 issue of Black Magic Vol. 1 #5… I simply adore stories about innocent, naïve girls who dabble in the occult and discover much more than they bargained for… and believe it or not, sometimes they actually do have happy endings too.

Ummm, today’s story though does not.
