Two Must Die

Another chilly classic from the Spring 1953 issue of Ghost Comics #6, this one set in a deadly, apparition loaded old mine shaft. Nice work from the ever dependable team of Benulis and Abel, and check out that gorgeous Maurice Whitman cover! If you've never read "The Sleepers in the Crypt" which is mentioned on the cover, check the THOIA Archive by CLICKING HERE after today's story!

Build a Better Rat-Trap!

Terror team time from Bill Benulis and Jack Abel, taking us out with a hysterically ratty finale from the August 1953 issue of Adventures into Terror #22, --hope everyone enjoyed our Atlas 2024 Fest! I'll try to add more Atlas tales in the coming months, but up next some long awaited requests from other various publications and eras. Stay tombed...

A Very Grave Matter!

We still haven't found our way out of this groovy graveyard of horror, so let's see how our favorite coffin maker is doing with his latest client. And judging by the title of this story, I'm guessing not so good! From the November 1953 issue of Adventures into Terror #25, with art by big bad Bill Benulis.

House of Horror!

It's that time of year again, when the Halloween haunted houses start poppin' up all over town to give the locals an overpriced thrill 'n chill or two... annnnd here's another one courtesy of Benulis and Abel, just in terrifyin' time! From the Dec '52 issue of Mystic #15 (cover art by Joe Maneely.)

The Hypnotist! / Never Trust a Woman!

We'll never know if Stan had a thing against the men of the stage back in the 50's, but we do now know that he felt the need to bump off two of them in two separate stories found in the Jan '53 issue of Spellbound #11. And if that wasn't enough, both meet their wonderful ends under a very edgy, similarly sharp bit o'f circumstance-- hold on to your hats!

Lost in the Graveyard / Missing... One Head!

Yet another Atlas comic containing two similarly themed tales of heady horror within one issue, and this time they're both from the Nov '52 issue of Adventures into Weird Worlds #12. And we end out the month with another double (be)header-- and another great Bill Everett cover too! Hope everyone enjoyed this fright-filled February! See ya's in March!

The Thing That Walked At Night

Here's a weird one for ya, a day late (of course) for Werewolf Wednesday, and from the same issue as our last double header post of stories-- the Winter 1953 issue of Ghost Comics #9-- with wild 'n wooly art by one of Fiction House's most dynamic art duos, Bill Benulis and Jack Abel!

The Little Monster / "SHHHH!"

Sounded like some of you wanted to see what the rest of Mystery Tales #15 (September '53) was all about-- so here ya go! Benulis & Abel kick off our October 2011 festivities with some tentacled terror from "The Little Monster", followed by a senses shocking Dick Ayers classic simply titled "SHHHH!" PS: I'll have the last two stories from this issue in our next post later this week.
