Crimson Death

Some very nice artwork --and how about that splash!-- highlights this Nodel and Alascia tale of voodooey vengeance from the April 1953 issue of Eerie #11. And take a lesson from this tale too while you're at it: if things in your life are getting stale, jazz it up with something terrifying, and / or deadly!

Blood Vengeance!

Like our last post, today's bloody ghost tale is also nicely illustrated by Charles Nicholas, and while it feels like the usual, colorful sort of 7-page ACG or Ace Magazines story, it's actually from the October 1951 issue of Weird Adventures #3 (see the Dr. Psycha tale posted last month from the same issue HERE!) Oh yeah, one other thing setting Blood Vengeance apart from the auspicious ACG or Ace tropes is the horrifically holy moly brutal climax which you just have to see to believe. THUD!

The Oozing Horror

If you're like me, you probably also use the words "bark-encircled hideout" multiple times daily, so here's a spooky science freak-out that we can all eerily identify (and merge) with, from March 1954 issue of Web of Mystery #23. Ace artwork by the ever reliable, Charles Nicholas.

And speaking of mummy covers...

The Thirsty Idol / Haunted Houses

I don't know about you, but pouring human blood on anything to achieve something in return typically just seems like it's gonna be a bad idea. Case in point: today's saturated scare-o-rama illustrated by Rocco Mastroserio from the May 1953 issue of The Unseen #10. And you, dear lady, might I add-- are no Indiana Jones! I've also rounded out today's rollickin' sadventure with a haunted one page quickie, also by Rocco.

Ghoul Crazy

It's Father's Day, and what's the one thing that most dads want on this day more than anything else? I mean besides money. That's right-- GIRLS! So let's rip open the August 1953 issue of Mysterious Adventures #15, fire up Rotley Grue's "Ghouls, Ghouls, Ghouls" on the old turntable, and see how the holiday ends for our hero in this traumatizing tale of untamed lust.

More bowling horror! Dad's love bowling!

Night Owl

Is there a genre for gory bowling themed horror? Well, there is now! Originally presented in the July 1954 issue of Horrific #6, (art by Marty Elkin), we actually reprinted this one in the June 2013 issue of Haunted Horror #5 and it's seriously one of the most insanely entertaining tales you've ever seen coming from a mile away-- twist ending wise, that is!
