Okay, if you saw my other post earlier today then you already know what's happenin'-- and yes, by the white bones of Fenton's face I've found another old 50's spookshow ad / poster that stole / used precode horror cover art-- this time the screaming Bill Everett classic from the September 1953 issue of Spellbound #15. I do promise a regular story post coming up ASAP, so stay tombed...

So I'd suspect the "surgical maniac" is the old sawing off limbs carnival/freak show/magic tricks. Normally spook shows were done in large theaters or drive-ins -- one wonder how well that trick looked from a couple hundred feet away!
I have no idea how many of these there are (punk posters have to be full of these) but I love this feature!
