The Hunter
Our last post was so much fun, how about another Bob Powell classic, this one from the Dec. '53 issue of Witches Tales #22. From the contents page intro: "THE HUNTER follows the track of the cat... through the treacherous paths winding about a mountain... facing the elemental dangers... facing mental pitfalls!" An intense Harvey tale of the not-so-typical Harvey horror variety.

nice change of pace? i liked it, especially the splash page, it makes for a perfect set-up.
Good God, this is so beautiful! You wonder if Powell just wrote this himself so he could have an excuse to draw cats, snow, and dramatic mountain passes to break the monster monotony. Whatever the case, it's gorgeous stuff!

That cover is fantastic!
The story made me think of the Robert Mitchum Movie Track of the Cat.
A great Powell tale wrapped in a great Lee Elias cover, you couldn't possibly ask for much better than that! Glad everyone dug this post, more Witches Tales coming up!
