Those made my flesh crawl. They reminded me of that one a few months back, Squish. The one with the worms that were metaphors for sperm.
Joe and May kind of deserved each other--charmers, the both of them. But poor Helen didn't deserve what she got.
MENACE has got to be my favorite Atlas title, with WEIRD WORLDS coming in a close second. These two worm-tastic tales illustrate why!
A SUPER FUN PAIR UP! DIPRETA AND WALTON IN ONE DAY, YOU KNOW HOW TO SPOIL US KARS! AND YOU NAILED THE CAST ON THAT SECOND STORY WITH THE ROPERS..........HAAAAAAAA!!
Nice update! These stories kidna reminds me of the movie Squirm! WHat a wonderful b-flick than one was
brutal, brutal...and plenty of worms.
great art on both and creepy too,
thanks for the excellent scans!
I just saw the nice plug Rue Morgue magazine gave you in their new Ray Harryhausen tribute issue.
Very cool.
Karswell: like this pair a lot, particularly the first one. Beautiful coloring job. The first story took me back to my childhood. My father hunted night crawlers nearly obsessively, for fishing just like the protagonist here (well, not quite as obsessively, I suppose).
Interesting link between the two stories, with a nagging wives turning into killer worms. Ah, the lessons we learn as children reading comics serve us for the rest of our lives. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. -- Mykal
