Ripped from the pages of Totally Fake Film History* comes--- She Shrieked with Horror! Starring Tom Tryon as Talbot Stewart, Gloria Talbott as Ghrislaine Eyre, and Max 'Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom as Emeil.

I really liked the visual in this story. Lots of cool-looking creepazoids this time around.
Web of Mystery is definitely a cool old series.
"Ghrislaine"? Where did these guys come up with these names?
I agree with Chuck, lots of great visuals here. Even though the twist was foreseeable, it was still fun. I especially like the taunting party guests at the bottom of pg. 2, the MONKEY OUTTA NOWHERE on 3, and of course Adolph's mid-mask-pulling frame. And hey, on the splash page, isn't that a dwarfish Impossible Man in Shakespearean dress? :)
Nota bene: Old commando tricks == ALWAYS useful.
One thing I really like about this is the wild arcs of some of the exclaimations, like YIEEEEE! on pg 5, and UGHHHH and the wonderful AHYAHHH! on pg 6. The way the letters themselves seem to be going nuts--great. EEOOWWW! But why do that great story title in lowercase? I don't get it.
And thanks again for all the well-wishes...while my ordeal has been horrifying, the revelation that I am a mannequin myself sure explains a lot...like my strange attraction to the Mill of the Stone Women models, for instance. Luckily one of my coworkers is a voodoo priest and was able to find a few chickens on short notice, so I'm good as new!

Ha ha, you win the knowledgable "no prize" for the week. You may have to share it with The Vicar though, someone who gets murdered at THOIA twice in one month deserves something extra special too.
Great story- I second (err, third? fourth? ...lost count, here) the call for more ACE stories.
My only criticism of this story would be that Adolf was clearly just an unappealing human (being taken down by one bullet, after all, and exhibiting no real 'powers' at all). Why didn't Ghrislaine, a vampire, just off the ugly bastard herself? Just a thought...

Great story -- I agree with all the comments above, especially about the name.
Before our first child was born, my wife and I enjoyed looking for the worst names in the baby books. Our favorite was Valborga. But Ghrislaine would be a close second.
The art in this story is completely on par with an EC level of quality, very nice and well written.

Agree about the visuals,it's like a Freddie Francis film on paper!.the story is crazy but fun,love the design of the ghoulies.
It's all the little things - her name, the MONKEY OUTTA NOWHERE, as the vicar put it, thew way she always calls him by his full name, that help the surrealism here.
