Like my hero
Rod Serling (he's not really my hero) I thought I'd create a
Night Gallery section of my own here in this dark, forgotten corner of our blog to display horrific and sometimes beautifully painted classic paperback cover art. Take a stroll down any isle in any bookstore these days and you'll see what a forgotten art form the painted paperback cover really is (kind of like movie posters too!) So here for you now I present an occasional reminder on how great and terrifying books actually used to be.

Wonderful idea and great addition to your blog....it just keeps getting better and better all the time!
I AGREE!!!!! IS THIS THE BOOK VERSION OF THE AMICUS MOVIE??
Yes it is! Fantastic! If you find the paperback version of ASYLUM, that is a classic, too!
Thanks for this new feature.
>IS THIS THE BOOK VERSION OF THE AMICUS MOVIE??
Yes, and what's funny is how much more striking the book cover is compared to the actual US theatrical release movie poster, see:

And as with the comic scans I'm also taking requests and submissions if you care to share the horror with others. Just drop me an email!
Gorgeous!!! If you ever needed to convince someone about finding the beauty in horror this would be a good example
I'm a big fan of Lou Feck and never saw this before, thanks for sharing!
Catching up on back posts.... I have the pb as well as Tales From the Crypt (another very nice cover).
