TerrorVision '88

Not to be confused with the great 1986 sci-fi horror film of the same name, this TerrorVision is instead the very short-lived, seven episode mini series of eerie anthology tales (each one only 10 minutes long) that originally aired on the Lifetime Channel in March of 1988. Monsters, vampires, cursed severed hands, living dead, living mannequins, and more! If you love reading the kooky, low-fi stories I post here at THOIA, then you might enjoy these horrifically cheeseball horror shorts as well, (did I mention how bad the acting is?) And thankfully, someone kindly posted all 7 episodes into one big creepy clip on YouTube that you can watch by CLICKING HERE!

The Devil's Sideshow

Another terror tale from the June 1953 issue of Worlds of Fear #10 (see previous post) and from the same scan source as well, thank you whoever you were!-- and this time, Bob McCarty is on art duties and delivers his creepy carnival-esque spin variation of the infamous 'ol classic siamese twin twisteroo that EC so clearly, and influentially first unleashed. The Fleshless Ones

So after two short ones in a row, you get two long ones in a row! And if that ain't a "that's what she said" joke, I don' know what is. And I apologize for not remembering who sent these scans to me eons ago, (I believe it was one of the Tommys who used to donate scans for Haunted Horror occasionally), but here we go with another very lengthy, Fawcett fright-fest full of scary Sheldon Moldoff skeletons and, well, --even more skeletons! It's been a bit since we shambled down the moronic horror halls of brainiacal mad science, --and oooo mama, here's an epic golden age decap classic that'll definitely make your head spin! From the May 1952 issue of Worlds of Fear #4, with art possibly by Sekowsky and Alascia.

The Hotel

Another two-page quickie, this time from the January - February 1973 issue of Weird Mystery #4, art by Jim Starlin. Another Silver Age favorite "Jim" did the artwork for the front cover of this issue, but you'll have to visit GCD to see it because I didn't wanna spoil the ending of our story! I'll have something a bit longer coming up next, I promise! Arf! Arf!

Finally getting June 2023 rollin' here, and though it's merely a two-page quickie, it is absolutely one of the most terrifyin' Archie adventures to ever grace this blog-- so hold on to your whoopee caps! From the March 1962 issue of Pep #153.

How about another creepy DC classic? And it's been a while since we've featured anything by bloodcurdlin' Bill Draut, so let us now peel back the cover of the December 1978 issue of Ghosts #71 and see what sort of unnatural things are ominously supernaturaling! (That's a real word, right?)

Twilight of the Cat

Mr. Karswell got himself a new cat recently, so to celebrate let's take a look at another fiendish feline encounter from the eerie November - December 1972 issue of Forbidden Tales of Dark Mansion #8. Ernie Chua delivers some spooky atmosphere and a couple of really interesting transformation panels towards the end of this fine supernatural DC classic!
