Didn't immediately recognize the name -- so I looked him up. He did some real fine work. Very busy with the shading and cross-hatching without clouding up the work. Great stuff!

Yes there are plenty of examples of his awesome work in my archive, just check the name label / tags in the left hand column

A great comic artist (loved his work for Avon) and a superb portrait artist. Too bad Obama didn't commission a second Presidential portrait so that ERK could have had his complete string.

I like Kinstler's work in all the main phases of his wide-ranging career. But I think I like the black and white pulp illustrations the best. The man was an incredibly suave and interesting painter, but I really, really like the way he drew.

Also I spent some portion of my life mixing him up with the also excellent pulp illustrator Mort Künstler. Even though god knows the men in question did everything they possibly could to distinguish themselves from one another.

I like his one pagers the most. He had these black and white advertisement/illustrated table of content pages for one of the fifties horror, (I forgot which). His line was spontaneous and just different than anyone else's. He seemed like he would've been working on pulp fiction illustrations or advertising as well. HIs style was sophisticated and maybe a little less cartoony than the usual comic artist. Great illustrator.

2019 has really been the year of great losses.

There are a handful of the black and white Avon content page illustrations in my archive, just search his name under the artist tags as mentioned above.
