Here's a rare example of a Farrell story highlighted by artwork apparently NOT created by the Iger Shop. Man, I could've swore I already posted this story here at THOIA over the years, (pretty sure the rest of the issue is), but a quick search through the dusty archives proves I haven't --though it is featured in our Complete Voodoo Volume 2 collection (IDW / Yoe Books) which is available HERE! From the Sept '53 issue of Voodoo #11... and thanks to E. for the request!

I went ahead and tagged this one. Interestingly, it seems to have been inspired by the real-life story of the Collyer brothers (who, as far as I know were sadly devoted to each other): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collyer_brothers
Cool info, thanks Nequam! I was just about to tag stuff myself but then breakfast happened!
Interesting one.
Great example of how some comics aped the EC format, but missed..everything else that made them stand out.
I really like the art in this one; it's cartoon-y and there are places the artist looks like he's trying to ape Davis but can't quite get to it (for instance, the splash.) GCD has no information on the artist, I suspect there's other jobs he's done all over the place, though, it's obviously somebody that has skill at comics.
It's also an interesting, non-supernatural story (I suspect Nequam is correct here, it seems based off that story.)
I like some of the fresh aesthetic choices. The booby trap page in which the different frames are clustered in such a way that they might be read haphazardly, the elevator cut-away panel, all those hands grabbing, and clutching, and sticking up everywhere all over the place. Neat stuff.
I was slightly surprised by the cat food reference. That's often associated with someone who's poor (or in this case, someone who LIVES like he's poor), but I guess I didn't think it was talked about so much this early. Let alone so much that it's mentioned so CASUALLY in this story.
Say, thanks! Really like the cartoony art here.
