Which is Witch? / The Mousetrap

Today we present the last two terror tales from the September 1952 issue of Amazing Detective #14 (also see: "The Weasel Returns" in our last post, as well as "Hands Off" and "Drop Dead" posted together HERE!) ...and just to satisfy the sadistic issue completist inside of you, I promise to have more complete pre-code horror comics primed and bloodied for posting all this summer.

Great stories! Thanks for posting. It's funny how the artist for the first story completely switched styles and went for a Kirby swipe on the last panel. The Rat story was great.

Yes, shoot Paul, hurry! Blow one of them away, but which one?? Witch one?!!! Surely there's no other way to figure out which is witch, no other way at all in the world, nothing performed right in front of you on page 3 by a farmer holding a cross!! So just shoot Paul-- SHOOT! HER! NOWWWWWWW!!!!

If only Paul had remembered the old proverb: "don't squeeze the Charmaine."

HAAAAA SOMETIMES THESE ATLAS TALES ARE SO HALF BAKED YET STILL AWESOME ITS IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO LIKE THEM AS MUCH AS THE REALLY WELL WRITTEN ONES. GREAT ART ON BOTH TOO

The title of the first story might have been swiped from a Jack Davis EC story titles "Which Witch is Which?"

Taken or swiped, you might be right Anonymous Corpse!

Thanks again for the comments everyone, more Atlas on the way, as I've just decided to finish out June with my favorite pre-code publisher.
