Halfway to Hades

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Are you still in the mood for love? Well then you definitely came to the wrong place. In fact, today’s quaint little Valentine (from me to you) has absolutely no love interest plot or boy meets girl interaction whatsoever. So why post it today then you ask? Read on…

It's not great by the usual standard, but it conjures such a spooky and surreal mood, I like it as much or more. Happy, uh, Valentine's Day.

DOES FEEL A LITTLE RUSHED BUT I THINK THIS ONE HAS SOME NICE TOUCHES, THE WEIRD SKELETON CAT AND THE KNIFE WEILDING GANGSTER GHOSTS....... ALSO THE SPLASH IS JUST FANTASTIC. REMINDS ME OF AN ACE TALES BUT MINUS A FEW ESSENTIAL PAGES OF STORY.

College students looked like they were 40 in the 1930's.

EVERYBODY looked 40 in the 30s. :) Heck, even in my parents' high school year books...

I liked the writing in this one a lot, very evocative and artful and spooky. I wish they'd colored a bit more creatively, but the drawings of the bartender and the thugs coming up the stairs are chilling. And the ghost cat reminded me of that horrific scene from Sybil...anyone else remember that one?

Cool stuff, as usual, Karswell!

Wearing a bow tie or a green plaid jacket doesn't help matters either.

It's been too many years for me on that one. I think I only saw it once the first time it aired in the mid 70's. Would love to see it again though.

Can't help but agree, great splash page, nicely paced set-up,a neat moment or two, good art,but ultimately too rushed and weak.
