I find it interesting how popular zombies are right now in our current mainstream culture, almost to a fault, yet hardly any good zombie movies have been made in the last 20+ years. There are a few exceptions of course but the best stuff came out a long time ago, before the undead became watered down for the masses.

I thought "I Am Legend" was pretty good. My only complaint was the CG zombies were kind of goofy looking and didn't look real. Other than that it was an excellent movie, even if it did have Will Smith in it.

I read an interesting "higlights" interview with George Romero recently (posted over at the Vault of Horror blog) and George was commenting the fact that current popularity in zombies has less to do with modern undead movies and more to do with video games. Makes sense...
