"Why... those 'things' are drawing back from the blood! And my dead brother's ghost said 'blood' would help..."

You know, we tend to blithely throw around terms like "total lunacy" and "raging insanity" and the like, and that has left me with very little left to describe the staggering what-the-fuckery going on in this magnificently bonkers onslaught of top-volume freakishness. Can the pedal be stomped any harder? Does the needle go any further into the red?

PS, the latest issue of Haunted Horror has another fantastic cover! What's it from?

We thought you guys would like this one, haha!

Cover art is originally from the August 1952 issue of Strange Stories from Another World #2, art by Norm Saunders who painted all 4 covers of this great short lived series.

What a kitchen sink story! Aliens! Ghosts! Skeletons! Blobs! More Ghosts! Space Ships! The military! The scientist! There would have been an ape if they didn't run out of pages!

Hey, Karswell, did you guys improve the coloring on this? It's a lot brighter than I usually see with comics of this age.

Yes, the contrast is adjusted to brighten up the pages and covers, some of these are of course pretty fade and / or murky and definitely need a little extra love and tweak attention-- just like I do with the scans here at THOIA.

We'd love to hear what everyone thinks of the new HAUNTED HORROR issue, drop us a line anytime!

Forgive my ghoulish humor tonight, I'm just in a real good mood after reading a real weird tale from pre code days, that and the fact that the power finally came back on where I live after almost two days. (Philadelphia PA area) I pity those who won't get their power back until Sunday!

All in all, given a choice between dealing with the threat of undead/ghost Martians or being in the dark and no heat, I would rather choose the latter.

It's tempting to think that the whole "dead alien bodies" part was inspired by the "Roswell" type stories from the late ' 40s and early ' 50s (Roswell not being the only one). Except that you always here how those stories stopped being popular pretty quickly, and took a long while to make a comeback and really become part of pop culture. But it's still possible.

It's interesting how Blant is a scientist in a lab but a "student of the occult" and believer in it. So much of the time (in and out of fiction) those two things are pictured as very big enemies. It's almost easy to imagine Blant getting his own comic series, as one of those "occult detective" type characters.
