Two creepity, crispity-climaxity tales from the July 1954 issue of Weird Mysteries #11, the first story narrated by yet another EC style horror host clone known as "The Ghoul Teacher." And OMG, if you missed the mind-shatteringly insane "Voodoo Dolls" (same issue) that I posted way back in 2007 HERE then check it out too!

heh-heh, my precious collection of Toblerones!...
"Life Insurance" was quite gruesome, thank you very much...
BOTH OF THESE WERE GREAT, THE CREMATION STORY HAD A WEIRD TWIST WITH THE RADIATION ANGLE.......AND I WAS CRACKING UP OVER SOME OF THE NARRATION IN THE OTHER STORY. ON THE FIRST PAGE THEY SAY 'MORNING PAPER' WAY TOO MUCH HA!
Story one: whenever these stories are from the point of view of some everyday object the word-to-art ratio widens crazily. Who knew a dang vase could talk so much?
Story two: has what I consider to be a "clever twist beginning." Ultimately, it's the same old plot we always see when someone seeks to thwart death ("but, HA HA, you didn't tell the genie not to let you AGE, stupid!"). And yet the story looks very much, going by the opening panel, to be about a super-car that can drive down the train tracks. I wasn't exactly disappointed with the way things turned out--"Life Insurance" pulled out all the horror stops in a Jack Chick flourish I'm sort of used to seeing the reader spared in pre-code comics--but I must point out that the story would have never gotten as far as it did. After the arduous process of bouncing back from a double-tap to the chest, with painful surgery and soul-crushing rehab and reduced ability and capacity, well, poor Casper would have gotten the point and asked for a refund on even the second year.
But ten years later, when Casper does finally get to become a ghost, it's pretty obvious why he'd be in such a friendly mood about it.
Well, only 3 comments but they were choice comments and I appreciate you guys bothering to even leave some of your wonderfully distinct words here... thanks!
I have two more tales from Weird Mysteries #11 to complete this issue, but first we'll be taking a trip back to Ghost Stories #11 again to fill a request.
