Live With a Man

Time to wrap up another THOIA full issue presentation, this time it's the July 1954 issue of Weird Mysteries #11 and what a violent, mean-spirited, satanic shocker this one is-- complete with a gloriously cheap, but fitting ending too!

And hey all you horrorheads, don't miss out on the frightening fun happening over at my other blog all this month too! And Everything Else "BOO!" Too!

"why don't you call on Satan for help?"...

those panels of the Debbil on the last page are priceless! Laughing so hard he cries? Bet that happens a lot!

Great post. Reads a little rushed, though. I wish the artist had spanned it out over 5 pages.

"Human emotion causes a reaction -- that action creates a new emotion -- that emotion brings about a new reaction--" This was by far the most insanely (or brilliantly!) written story you've posted in a while. All the repetition, and matter-of-fact statements (Ben's swimming lesson being my favorite) makes it seems like a grisly horror story for a two-year-old. And how about the bottom of Page Two? It almost looks like Eadie (what a name!) poisoned, smothered, and defenestrated the same guy! Like she really meant it that time!

I love, love, love, love, love this! Thanks, Kars!

For my money, it's the creepily half-lit conversation she has with her own prison doppelganger that is the most nightmarish thing about this surreal thing. My overall feeling here is that the creators just happened to accidentally, through sheer ineptness, create something really pretty awesome this time.
