Halloween Nightmare

Countdown to Halloween: Post #6! I had 4 people email me about this story last week because everyone was trying to help me find Halloween tales to include for All Hallows Week. Typically, if you use GCD then you know that the keyword search engine makes it easy to find specific subject matter contained in specific back issues. Brian Hirsch knows this too, he even has the scans to prove it--- and here they are! Thanks BH! And thanks again to everyone else who made the attempt! One day to go!

From the April 1952 issue of Black Cat Mystery #34

NICE ART AND VERY COOL IDEA FOR A HALLOWEEN STORY, PROBABLY WOULD HAVE FLOWED BETTER AND BEEN A LITTLE MORE SUSPENSEFUL WITH A COUPLE EXTRA PAGES TO BREATH BUT STILL NICE TO READ AFTER SEEING IT LISTED ON GCD.

What must they do??!!!??
I need to know!

I bet she waited until dawn to say that just to leave them all tormented by that very question...

Now that truly is evil.

Of course if this had been an EC, her being overwhelmed by the bright day whilst saying something like that, would inevitably lead to the aforementioned bright day meeting some deliciously ironic and unpleasant death!

I know, ha ha! It's like every horror movie where the danger is averted at the last minute and we never get to see what happens if the world is over run by evil aliens or demons or whatever... maybe someday we'll find out.

If the world is taken over by aliens or demons that means only one thing wil happen,ONLY one thing CAN happen, only one thing SHOULD happen....none of us will have to wear pants anymore!!!!great story though, seriously, art reminded me of Alex Toth at times, and that one guy looks like the Spirit.

I'm a little mixed on this like some of the earlier posts, I like everything about it except how it ends with no real pay off. But getting there is still fun, some of it is unintentionally funny though like the guy saying "Die winged monster of the night!!" while holding up a little bat, and the woman with the knife hunting for "One newly murdered man"!! hee

That's what they get for wearing suits to a Halloween party.
