How to Become a Werewolf

I'm working on a larger story clean-up for our next post, (and since Werewolf Wednesday has suddenly pounced upon us rather unexpectedly) so here's a quick little furry fix of valuable, one-page information that you may or may not know to help transform your day into something special... in the mean time. From the July 1974 issue of Haunted #17.

The "sleeping outdoors" panel looks a bit like it was inspired by Rousseau's The Sleeping Gypsy-- or is it just me?

You know what I love about comics? A one page filler strip and yet you can still get to work in a attractive woman and breasts. COMICS!

Jokes aside, the art on this is great. They went all out on the nature backgrounds here, both panels 2 and 3 have relatively stunning vistas, and everything is really well staged. Even the lightly background-ed panel 4, which is stark but makes up for it in the clever camera angle. That's a lot of great line work for a 1 page filler.

Aw, they left out my favorite way: Getting yourself born on Christmas (or sometimes during the Christmastide, between Christmas and Epiphany). Not only does it really suck to have a December 25th birth date--Christmas babies only get half the presents other kids get, just ask Jesus--but to also get stuck with lycanthropy from such an early age? Ugh. Imagine the awkward teen wolf years.

Happy Werewolf Wednesday!

Whatever the woman drinking is on, from the look in her eyes she's so high that she'll have no trouble imagining she's become a wolf.

Imagine being a werepuppy.

Brian Barnes and Bill The Butcher said just what I was thinking.
Between the way she's drawn and the look on her face, it's a little like seeing one of those "arty" Warren magazine stories.

Great one pager! For me the girls face makes me think of Bode's women. Thank you Kars!
