Here's a little 4 page reminder from the October 1952 issue of Adventures into Terror #12 that even your most water-logged idea of brutalized body disposal could potentially backfire on you if you simply overlook the smaller things in life. *SLAP! BWA HA HA HA! That's a good ending, and the timing is really good in the story. Did not see that one coming!
I really like the art in this one it's ... different. Box-y, George is basically a rectangle, withhuge dark shadows and clean lines. It's very advertisement like. A bit of that same vibe Johnny Craig had but obviously different. I think it works great for this story, especially the last panel. That's really eye-catching.
That's a pretty grisly death, BTW, for a "KAA..LL..OPP" sound effect!
That last panel is worth a million bucks.
Yeah, that's a great ending. I like the way Stallman's people look like robots, or maybe like characters models from an animated movie. Page two of this thing is beautiful from top to bottom, though I like the bottom part best--that last panel is like Japanese print.
The imprecise color work here (and it's not just the printing this time--some of the color plates themselves seem to ignore the outlines of the art) makes it look like the important elements of the frame have been highlighted by some long-ago pupil taking notes for horror class. Make sure you know this part, buster. It'll be on the test.
