The Creeping Hand

It's been awhile since I've posted a creeping severed hand yarn, and this one from the June 1953 issue of Chilling Tales #16 (art by Steve Kirkel) grabs you from the first page and never lets go. FYI: I'll have another story from this issue later this week which leads us into multiple postings for our first big theme of the month.

Dang, first Ted and then Tom. Maybe if Greer had a manly T name then he could get Mary's attention? I mean, it doesn't seem all that hard to do.

This one here was great--maybe even archetypal. I mean, how many pre-code stories include completely straight-faced panels with the lines "If I can't have her no one will!" or "What have I done? I've killed the only woman I've ever loved!" I'd really like to see a gallery collection of these hung side-by-side.

Totally! Also, I wonder if anyone's ever made a porno flick about a severed hand on the prowl?

Me too! Quickly-- someone call The Smithsonian!

As mentioned, there's another tale from this issue coming up next, and fyi: I've started another blog which you can find here:

it's a slightly different side to Karswell that some of you possibly already knew existd, but if you didn't then surprise surprise surprise!

Not sure, GCD only has a few entries for him and all of it looks like horror stuff:
