The Thing in the Pool
Here’s a nice looking Myron Fass classic with a great cheesecake splash and a weirdly beaked, tentacled creature out for blood! It’s a slick terror tale, though it sure takes the long way around to telling a simple revenge story (10 pages?!) Still a winner though.

The monster looks kinda cute---like a big Amazon parrot.
READ THE FIRST HALF THIS AT HOME THIS MORNING AND THE LAST HALF AT WORK, VERY COOL. I LIKE THE FASS ART ALOT, THE MONSTER COULD BE SCARIER THOUGH. THE HOUSE UP ON THE MOUNTAIN WITH THE CURVY ROAD LEADING UP TO IT IS A NICE TOUCH.
Yeah, it's safe to say that Myron had himself a nice story layed out, but overall the monster is the weak link here and would look more at home on Sid & Marty Kroft's Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. Still, nice mood and headlight action o'plenty.
I actually kind of like the monster, the eyeball at the end of the tentacle is cool.
I also like the fact that everybody dies at the end.
I'm totally trimming my mustache to look like Corday's.
>Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.thats exactly what i was gonna say!still,i have to admit theres an otherworldliness in the last 2 panels,with narration that could've been perfect for a TZ episode,i also love the splash,the monster is ogling her!and the monster is still not as bad as the one from CREATURE FROM THE HAUNTED SEA,but what do i know of sea-monsters?the guy who runs X-entertainment says the Creature from the Black Lagoon looks like a squid to him....never really made that connection,but i guess my 3-d goggles were just dusty.

What a load... the Creature from the Black Lagoon is easily one of the greatest monster creation designs in the history of horror. Looks nothing like a squid.
It has kind of a Jack Kamen vibe to it---style in the "Modern Love" vein.
Corday is a fantastic caricature, and the head on that monster is giggle-inducing.
Can you blame Corday? Ann is a serious babe!
