Doom Smoke

I spotlighted Ace Magazines a few months ago with a 7 day tribute and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. So here we go again but we’ll just do 4 days this time, and kicking it all off with a great tale featuring one of the best splash panels I’ve ever seen. Anyone know the artist? [GCD now believes it's Ken Rice. -- Nequam]

From the November 1954 issue of The Beyond #29

I don't think it is, but I could be wrong. This story comes from a particually good issue of The Beyond, and tomorrow's post comes from the same issue. See ya then!

Great story.i wonder what effect this might've had on someone who wanted to start smoking?

He spends so much time trying to see the next forecast so he can avoid it, but he throws himself right into each one. You'd think he'd have stopped with the first one. "I have the overpowering urge to strangle Arleen just like it showed me I would! ... perhaps I shouldn't." Nope, no learnin' with this one. And gosh, who could have foreseen rats being in the sewer?
