Heads of Horror

This is probably the third post I’ve done with a story of this name, or at least a slight variation on the words “head” and “horror.” But whatever, this yarn still stands on its own, and in typical Farrell fashion rates as absolutely one of the most cockamamie mad scientist entries ever.

From the March - April 1954 issue of Voodoo #14

Thank you for sharing. I used to read theses stories reprinted in black and white in Eerie publications, as a kid. Magazines covers are easily found on the net, but inside stories are harder. I love those magazines to the point of remaking their covers and publishing them here : http://jamesglover.deviantart.com/

Looks like you've applied alot of time and Corban influence to these cover remakes. Nice work, and thanks for the link... I don't remember quite so much labia on the Eerie Pub covers though but they of course do make a great addition to any horror scenario!

sick! maybe this is where burton got the shrunken head idea for beetlejuice

and those deviantart covers are more funny than scary, they just dont have the same atmosphere as the painted originals which are very scary, everything looks too round and like aluminum. body proportions, skin textures and natural lighting need alot of work. but the guy is on the right track for sure

Try reading this story aloud, doing individual voices for the characters(including high-pitched Chipmunky voices for the victims after the transformation)and it's great.

The mad scientist reminds me of a bad relationship I once had. Controlling jerk, got mad when I dumped him because it hurt his ego, not his heart. I got a chuckle thinking about shrinking his fat head.
This was an entertaining one, not just because of the thought of getting revenge on bad ex boyfriends!

[COMMENT NECROMANCY] It's like someone saw those gags with someone getting their head shrunk by alum (a la Looney Tunes) and decided to try and play it seriously!
