Mark of the Brute

How about a couple tales from Don Heck for the next few posts? Great art here, not sure if Heck scripted it, but what I am sure of is this sort of “hardboiled horror” meets “damsel in distress (in a haunted house)” type story could only have come out of the ever amazing 50’s. Where the heck is time machine technology when we really need it? No pun intended…

they really knew how to make scary looking monsters back then

I was just looking at all the cool "head only" covers he did for the HORRIFIC series....... very unusual compared to what everyone else was doing at the time.

Artwork is like a combination of Krigstein and Orlando.

I have a couple of the 50's DANGER comics with Heck art too, his style fits nicely in all genres.

So,the guy's name was Mr.Action?,he certainly lived up to it,pulling out a gun on only the 2nd page!,i didn't like the ending too much;i was expecting some ending where Channing becomes a monster, but thats all right.and i agree Heck can draw for anyone, for example,he draws the greatest breasts!(please dont edit that out,by the way, what DID that guy write yesterday?).

I never edit anything unless it's christian propaganda... I have a good example of lovely Heck ladies (and breasts) for tomorrow!
