Unlike the raunchier posts this week, Black Magic in a Slinky Gown is not quite as “racy” or “risqué” as its title implies. Still, underneath all the water damage and moldy mildew stains there’s a groovy little number slinking around in here. SING! “Can she swing, from a thread? Take a look, now you’re dead! Hey there, there goes the Spider Womaaaaan…”

GIRL OF THE LIMBERLOST + CAT PEOPLE=awesome.and just one among many "widows" in comics!.really liked this one even without much cheesecake.
I CAN'T HELP MYSELF! I MUST KILL ALL THOSE WHO DESTROY MY SPECIES!
A two-eyed giant spider? This was hilarious, if not very scary. Thanks as always.
Hello Karl this time the story was so-so (and it looks like many post-code tame horror comics ) but the splash panel is really great !
Thanks again for sharing these gems with us ...
Yeah, he might as well keep her secret.
Who would believe him anyway?
Dan sure got chatty while he was fighting for his life. Not many people can pull off a monologue while fending off a giant spider woman! I thought the story was pretty good until the ending, it was kinda..."eh"? Ah well though, pretty good posting anyway.
You have to wonder when you read these tales, which now and then show a lot adult themes and are often very sound in terms of craft, how much the later enforced code strangled the chances of comics becoming an adult medium in the crib.
What could have been hadn´t the creators had to do kid-friendly the next 20 years.
"She's the incarnation of a murderous horror beyond all human understanding!"
Hey, I think I dated this one too!
The cheesecake is a little lacking on this one (though The Awesomely Beautiful Leonore is one "leggy" dame, it has to be said), but the wild story and the purple-prose dialog makes up for it. Plus, she's really ROCKIN' that mourning outfit at the funeral! She's like the flying nun, but evil!
Hey, why wasn't THAT ever a TV series?
I love her nudge-nudge wink-wink with her lover on pg. 2: "Don't give up hope! Strange things happen! I might become a widow sooner than anybody expects! I might, in fact, TRANSFORM MYSELF INTO A GIAN SPIDER SO I CAN KILL MY HUSBAND AND FEAST ON HIS CORPSE! If you know what I mean..."
I'm totally digging her "fashionable outdoor restaurant" getup. I need to get in touch with My People and hook up with a fabulously similar hat/scarf combo. ;)
FUN LITTLE TALE. BUT IF A SWARM OF LITTLE WASPS CAN TAKE HER ON THEN ID PREFER TO HAVE SEEN HER BATTLE CORMANS WASP WOMAN. OR ELEKTRO.
"This is your bride letting the breeze blow her silken webs to the winds."
Man, if that isn't dirty it sure sounds like it should be.
"There's always been something abnormal about Lenore. Something repulsive, yet fascinating."
Maybe it's her silken webs floating on the breeze. Or the part about her dreaming of killing her stepfather.
You know, for the incarnation of a murderous horror beyond all human understanding, I'm not sure Lenore has thought her plan through. When you stab a guy in public for squashing a spider, being in jail or the nuthouse tends to limit your opportunities for homicidal revenge. And you're ready to marry Dan but you don't even know what he does for a living? Not the brightest antagonist, but she does look good in black.
And I think three gasps from one character on the same page is a new record. Congratulations, Dan.
Another awesome lot of killer komments here this morning. I continually feel honored to have all of you as my partners in horror.
Also this weekend, news of another THOIA giveaway! This time there will be multiple winners so check back in the next day or so for all the details… I’m still working everything out.
Fashionable, deadly, plus this Spider-Woman isn't a Skrull!
My kind of comic!
>Fashionable, deadly, plus this Spider-Woman isn't a Skrull!
I wanted to say "Wallopin' Webslingers!" somewhere on this post but totally forgot until just now.
Wasps are the natural enemy of spiders? I did not know that.
Artistically, I'm in favor of this one. Many panels are mini works of art.
at first glance I thought it said black magic in a stinky gown
