The Strange Room

Well, here we are on the last day of the month, on the last day of the year, and our last story post comes from the very last pre-code issue of Strange Tales... it's a fitting tale submitted by Brian Hirsch to help us end 2007 with a shiver!

From the February 1955 issue of Strange Tales #34

NICE LITTLE STORY, PERFECT POST FOR TODAY EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN REALLY FEEL THE LAST GASP OF THE THE PRE CODE ERA SLIPPING AWAY HERE.

Al Hartley is the artist, his Atlas work is really fun and colorful... later in his career he went on to more cartoony stuff with Archie Comics (after becoming a born again christian.)

GCD actually has more creator info on this Strange Tales issue and the other story artists than the Atlas site. Click here for more: http://comics.org/details.lasso?id=11890

The bellman should really do a thing when you check in: "Here's how you work the TV; there are the fire exits; there is the pre-drawn chalk outline..."

Brian's got a ton of great stuff, actually if any of the HOIA contributors (including myself) start running low on scans then it's surely Armageddon time...

>there is the pre-drawn chalk outline..."

Ha ha... Zen Wizard, that single idea is better than anything that happened in that entirely shitty 1408 movie.
