TOMORROW: Something weird, and extra mysterious!

The She-Beast (DVD NEWS)
It’s not my favorite Barbara Steele fright flick, but here comes La Sorella di Satana (aka The She-Beast ’66) on DVD April 28th from Dark Sky Films. Featuring an “all new audio commentary” (with who?) but more importantly a sparkling new 16x9 'Scope transfer taken from “extremely rare vault materials,” this is the perfect opportunity to throw out that crummy old public domain print and upgrade!

"scum-wench?" That's a new one on me.
This is really twistedly imaginative, dark and vicious. More, please!
I do like "scum-wench." That's pretty fresh.
Really, wouldn't it have been easier for Agatha to go to a dermatologist? But then we wouldn't have had this story, would we?
Oh yeah--George is a tool.
"Resign yourself to reality, no matter how grim..." A big hand for Mister Bedside Manner 1953!
This comment has been eaten away by the acid.
I was always a leg man myself. All these shallow chicks looked alright to me. But man that pirate brand hair bleach sure did a number on the blonde's age. And Satan's beauty spell certainly seemed to incorporate a lot of over-the-counter makeup the brunette had been previously ignoring.
Let that be a lesson to you, fifties chicks!
Oh no, not the hair!
Okay, this was a twist I didn´t see coming. The menace of the melon-head. Great story.
Of course I absolutly loved the the pure 50s twist. What is the first plan? To get a slice of life which was denied to her? No! Now that I am beautiful I will grind those panting dogs beneath my high-heels! :-) So her secret wish was to be a domina?
God, those woman back then really had some issues. Either they kill you for your money, make you beg for sex or make your life hell just for fun. I wonder why they have such a bad rep in these comics?
"Surrender, you pretty witch!" Ah, these guys will say any nice thing to get what they want, won't they? I wish I'd used that phrase when I was dating. Maybe I could've gotten more action.
The electric cauldron is a nice touch. And the big-head curse really knocks the story out of the park!
HA BAT SHIT IS RIGHT! SHE TURNED INTO A GIANT BOBBLEHEAD BUT HONESTLY WOULD MOST GUYS REALLY EVEN CARE?
NOT A BIG FAN OF SHE BEAST EITHER. WHY PUT A BEAUTIFUL ACTRESS LIKE STEELE IN A FILM AND THEN COVER HER FACE WITH HIDEOUS MAKEUP? BUT MAYBE THIS NEW SCOPE PRINT WILL SHOW US SOMETHING WE'VE BEEN MISSING. THANKS KARSWELL!!
"I don't want to see anybody...EXCEPT SATAN!"
Wow, what a tale, and what quotable lines! You can totally tell that these two are sisters--the tempestuous streak really runs in the family:
Agatha: "I'LL THROW ACID INTO HER INSIPID LITTLE BABY-BACE!"
Joy: "REVENGE! I MUST HAVE REVENGE! I LIVE ONLY FOR REVENGE!"
Something tells me George the Charming Date Rapist is well out of *that* snakes' nest!
The art here is good--the girls are really hard to look at. And I just love the "Oh, what a beautiful world!"/BAM! ACID TO THE FACE! panel juxtaposition. Nice effect.
As for the Curse of the Bobble Head at the end, that really came outta NOWHERE! Love it when the twists get this crazy and creative!
Poor, horribly beautiful Agatha.
...
I'd still do her.
"...A GIANT BOBBLEHEAD BUT HONESTLY WOULD MOST GUYS REALLY EVEN CARE?"
Yeah, more of a mouthful is wasted. I did not just say that.
ok, that was crazy.
amazing
just amazing
"The playful kitten... is now a dangerous wildcat!"
Love how the narration crept into Agatha's thoughts. Can't believe no one else singled that out as awful/awesome.
"Bat shit crazy" is my new favorite saying. Thank you for that.
Great comments today, plus a double shot of Bat Shit Crazy Awful Awsomeness coming at you tomorrow. Or at least a slight coating.
See ya then...
Dark and strange - right up my alley!
Dance with Your Dark Visions,
Lizzy
Lizzy's Nightmares
Poor, poor Agatha--she starts out with killer zits (or are they warts?) and ends up with a GREAT BIG HEAD.
