I was so busy at work yesterday I didn't get to post- so since I am up late painting monsters tonight, I had to stop in for the new story. Loved the artwork once again- that corpse victim at the end is excellent!!I kept hearing RATT rocking out in the background while reading this one (which made it EVEN scarier!!)..."I think you've been caught (You have been caught)At the scene of the crime (You have been caught)At the scene of the...Now I know what you've done to meAt the scene of the crimeCold blooded bitch goin' out on meI've got me a weapon, got me a loaded gunYou know I'll track you downAnd you'll be on the run, no fun"
not the most surprising end in the world, but that was some really great and moody artwork.Who was the artist?
Yeah. Loved the art but the story is like a two pager sort of strung out into five. My lyric submission would work better if the vampire's victim was female, granted. She asked me to stay and I stole her roomShe asked for my love and I gave her a dangerous mindNow she's stupid in the street and she can't socialiseWell I love the little girl and I'll love her till the day she diesShe wailsJimmy's guitar sound jealousies screamWaiting at the lights know what I meanScary monsters, super creepsKeeps me running, running scaredScary monsters, super creepsKeeps me running, running scaredDavid Bowie, Scary Monsters
I opted not to go for the obvious here. Hope that's cool.I can feel it coming in the air tonightHold onI've been waiting for this moment all my lifeHold onCan you feel it coming in the air tonightHold on, hold onWell, if you told me you were drowningI would not lend a handI've seen your face before, my friendBut I don't know if you know who I amWell, I was there and I saw what you didI saw it with my own two eyesSo you can wipe off the grinI know where you've beenIt's all been a pack of liesI can feel it coming in the air tonightHold onI've been waiting for this moment all my lifeHold onCan you feel it coming in the air tonightHold on, hold onWell I remember, I remember, don't worryHow could I ever forget? It's the first timeThe last time we ever metBut I know the reason why you keep your silence upNo, you don't fool meThe hurt doesn't showBut the pain still growsIt's no stranger to you or meI can feel it coming in the air tonightHold onI've been waiting for this moment all my lifeHold onCan you feel it coming in the air tonightHold onI've been waiting for this moment all my lifeHold on...Genesis, "In The Air Tonight"
Lyrics from Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) by Concrete Blonde:There's a crack in the mirrorand a bloodstain on the bed, there's a crack in the mirrorand a bloodstain on the bedO you were a vampire and babyI'm walking deadO you were a vampire and babyI'm walking deadThere's a rocking chair by the window down the hallI hear something there in the shadow down the hallO you were a vampire and now I am nothing at allO you were a vampire and now I am nothing at all
>Who was the artist?Manny Stallman. You can always click the highlighted issue link in the post intro that takes you to either GCD or the Atlas Tales site, 9 times out of 10 this info will always be available there (especially for Atlas stories.)We're off to a rockin' start this mourn, keep 'em coming!
I'll go for the stalker's anthem:Every breath you takeAnd every move you makeEvery bond you breakEvery step you takeI'll be watching youEvery single dayAnd every word you sayEvery game you playEvery night you stayI'll be watching youStingNot my most original choice, but creepy as they come.
Move asideAnd let the man go throughLet the man go throughAnd by the phoneI live in fearSheer chance will drawYou into hereI wanted to go with "Paranoia" by Menthol, but good luck making out the lyrics.
Probably the best story in the last THOIA month or so ;Sountrack courtesy of "THE HAUNTING" by THE MISFITS ...Thanks for sharing
FOR ONCE I DONT AGREE WITH MR CAVIN. I THINK THIS STORY IS PACED PERFECTLY AND BUILDS TO A GREAT CLIMAX. REALLY LIKE THE ARTWORKI SUCK LIKE A VAMPIRE AT THIS LYRIC STUFF THOUGH
"Hey, if you got atomic bloodAnd nothing to waste it onI'm a sexual vampireI'll eat your love tonightI said hey, in the wreck of the subway trainTrapped and wasted awayCos nobody saw the handsI'll eat your heart tonightEverybody's gonna dieCos it's the end of the worldIn the morning I get ready for the nightCos baby, there's no red button in sightI want to leave this world tonight..."--Zombina and the Skeletones, End of the World
Well, they say no good deed goes unpunished...and no bad deed either! You can't fucking WIN with these comics, K!I agree about the moody art here--very nice, almost like a storyboard of an arty student film, but in the best possible way. As for lyrics today--if you're going to ROCK, I say, ROCKWELL:I'm just an average manWith an average lifeI work from nine to fiveHey, hell, I pay the priceAll I want is to be left aloneIn my average homeBut why do I always feelLike I'm in the twilight zoneAnd I always feel likeSomebody's watching meAnd I have no privacyWhooooa-oh-ohI always feel likeSomebody's watching meTell me, is it just a dreamWhen I come home at nightI bolt the door real tightPeople call me on the phoneI'm trying to avoidBut can the people on TV see meOr am I just paranoidWhen I'm in the showerI'm afraid to wash my hair'Cause I might open my eyesAnd find someone standing therePeople say I'm crazyJust a little touchedBut maybe showers remind meOf Psycho too muchThat's whyI always feel likeSomebody's watching meAnd I have no privacyWhooooa, oh-ohI always feel likeSomebody's watching meWho's playin' tricks on meI don't know anymoreAre the neighbors watching me?Well, is the mailman watching me?And I don't feel safe anymoreOh, what a messI wonder who's watching me now?(Who?)The IRS?!?!?Peace out!*does the robot, moonwalks*
Let's see, how about "The Voice" by Alan Parsons? It's almost a feeling you can touch in the air,You look all around you but nobody's there. It's been a long time now since you've been awareThat someone is watching you...(he's gonna get you)...Sooner or later when your big chances come,You'll look for the catches but there'll be none.Remember before you grab the money and runThat someone is watching you...(he's gonna get you)...Before you run and hideHe's gonna get you.You got no choice,'Cause you can't escape the voice.Jumping at shadows that come up from behind.Scared of the darkness that's there in your mind,You're frightened to move because of what you might find...Someone is watching you...(he's gonna get you)...Before you run and hideHe's gonna get you.You got no choice,'Cause you can't escape the voice.
Wow -- great story. It was almost like a Poe tale, with the dramatic evocation of fear, mounting to an unbearable terror. A tale very well told, even if the ending was predictable. The art was just a good, I thought. The sightless eyes of the victim at the top of p2 were powerful. The increasing close-ups on the last two pages were quite cinematic and effective. But who knew vampires have such bad acne?I'm no good at these lyrics contests, but I think Emby wins with "In The Air Tonight."
I'm relieved as hell that I am not judging the lyric contest this time around... This has been taken to a whole new level!!
It's Stallman art, isn't it?.haven't seen this one in years.as for lyrics,i can't think of any...but give me a deal-with-the-Devil story and i can definitely get to thinkin'.
Yeah, I was just going to ad that this is typical of Stallman's later work.
A lyric finally came to me.I saw the vampire,But I did not see his deputy.I saw the vampire,But I did not help his deputy.Yeah! All around in my home town,They're tryin' to track me down; They say they want to bring me in guiltyFor seeing a vampire's deputy,For the life of an undead deputy. But I say:Oh, now, now. Oh!I saw the vampire,But I ran away in self defense.Oh, no! Yeah!I saw the vampire,And they say it is a capital offense.Yeah! Ooh, ooh, oo-oh Yeah! That vampire, he always hated me,For what, I don't know; The one time I walk down that alley,He said kill you before you go,He said kill you before you go. Read it in the news:I saw the vampire. Oh, Lord! But I ran away in self-defense.Where was the deputy? (Oo-oo-oh)I say: I saw the vampire,But I looked away in self defense. Oo-oh. Yeah!Death came my way one day,And I hid in my room, yeah! All of a sudden I hear the deputyComing to bring my doom,Because I saw - I saw - I saw the vampire, and I say:Because I'm guilty I will pay.I shot the vampire,But I didn't help his deputy,I didn't help no deputy -- oh, no-ohI saw the vampire. I did!But I didn't see no deputy. (Oo-oo-ooh)
