Hilarious EC spoof of the giant ant sci-fi / horror film classic, THEM! (1954), from the Feb-March 1955 issue of Panic #7, with wild 'n wonderful art by Wally Wood. (You can also check out some funny travel poster spoofage from this same issue as well over at my other blog HERE!)

This has been a great week! I can't believe how many PANIC jokes still land all these years later. Everybody on that rag was a genius. Favorite gag: when the sun-baked little girl finally starts talking and her dolly turns into an Oscar™. That's comedy gold right there.
Wally was in fine form here, too.
The K-9 running gag is a lot of fun, giving Wood a lot of chances to draw silly things and setting up the end gag; even though this isn't Kurtzman the meta-end gag is very much a lift from him. You can see how he was a good bit upset about Panic, especially as they were stealing away people like Wood.
The film strip that switches the giant ants for a woman but the text still fits is another great gag.
I really love the movie Them, expect even as a kid the wings on the queen just took me out of it. Still love it!
