The Strange Affair with... Death!!

For the next week or so things are gonna get dark and mysterious around here as we take some time to melt a few brain cells with the goofy/gory glories that can only come from the Dark Mysteries series. If you thrilled to past THOIA posts like "Horror of Mixed Torsos", Cannibal's Revenge", "If the Noose Fits-- Wear It", and "Born in a Grave" then this stuff'll kill ya! But let us start things off slow 'n easy with one from the Feb/March 1952 issue of Dark Mysteries #5.

UPDATE: I've started a new job this week, so THOIA posts (and at AEET too) might be a bit sparse here and there depending upon my schedule. I do promise to continue delivering quality posts though... just a heads up, thanks for stopping by!

"Bobo - I want her. Not for the usual reasons. I want her as my own."

Right there, we're into something good. The fact that these two even have, "usual reasons" is startling enough. What's "usual" for this pair sets the imagination reeling.

Great story. Not for the usual reasons.

In retrospect, maybe Dick would've been a better husband than Frank.

"Go get Deland, Bobo. And don't you worry about making it look like an accident either--just go ahead and make it look like a vampire did it. Who cares. As long as it doesn't look like the work of a dwarf or Gomez Addams, the papers'll never know!"

Deliriously loony.
