Hand of Fate!

There's a brutal beast terrorizing the moors, in this second eerie offering from Tales of Horror #5 from 1953. "Hand of Fate" title aside, is it just me or does this story look and feel more like something Ace would have published in one of their horror mags?

well, i don't really know my pre-code horror comic publishers, but that was a great-looking story! odd thing is, i knew how it was going to end by page three and i NEVER catch on that quick, so that's saying something! what, i'm not sure...

Nor did I, Prof. I figured the whole family were something like vampires, werewolves, or something else weird, and the old man was the family Dracula.

Boy, the letterer murdered the English language in this, didn't he?

The sheepdog was hilarious. My Turok would have headed for the hills before the vampire woman-beast even drew near.

I love these stories.... the worse, the better!

Don't be too modest Prof, you know your monster cliches better than you think!

No problem Turok, you want me to REALLY stink up this joint I can do it. Just for you :)

Hmmmm, one man's "worse the better" is another man's "awesome." I'm so confused!! Glad you enjoyed it Dominic, and thanks to everyone for the comments!

I'll probably finish off Sept 2010 with another story from this issue, and undoubtably will kick off Oct 2010's Halloween Countdown with the 4th and final tale... yep-- I'm posting the whole issue!

Also, this post is dedicated to John Zacherley, aka: "The Cool Ghoul", King Of Horror Hosts who turned a monstrous 92 years mold on Sunday! Happy B-Day Z!
