The Dead Won't Die

What the Hell, how about one more Harvey Horror tale this month? So let's check out a familiar, trusty, supernatural pre-code crime theme-- the good 'ol haunted hitchhiker tale! This one from the debut January 1951 issue of Witches Tales #1 (art by Tom Gill, credits confirmed by John E. Petty, Director of Auctions, Heritage Comics, via the GCD Error List on 23 May 2003).

Nice story Karswell. In regard to the new Thriller DVD release, what can be said that has not been said already? This is in my opinion the best horror series ever broadcast on network television despite the earlier mystery/crime episodes in the series, which by the way are still quite good, and I do believe I know my horror.

Thriller costs a C-note? jeez!

so, how did the police know he killed that guy?...

So how did the police know he killed that guy? Welsh probably told them.

The supernatural explanation is that Welsh's ghost was talking to the police in between the times he was talking to Fancher.

The skeptic's explanation is that Welsh wasn't quite as dead as Fancher thought, and lived long enough to not only set off the alarm, but to also tell the police who shot him. Then he died, making it murder.
