"True” Uncanny Mysteries

From the same issue of Forbidden Worlds, here’s a creepy and 100% TRUE horror quickie from Charles Quinlan. It’s “true” not only because it says so in the title, but because I read it in a comic book.

I buy it...for 15¢ :)

Seriously, though, I must once again call the police investigative procedures into question. Her name is Mottram, and there's a huge "MOTTRAM crypt in the local cemetery. How hard is it, guys?

It wouldn't be entertaining if the cops were smart in stories like this.

Hmm. I'm not an expert in this stuff but it feels like ghosts and reanimated corpses have different rules. She's corporeal and shouldn't be able to just walk through the wall of the crypt. Appear to do so in a haunting while her actual body is elsewhere, yeah. Her clawing her dead fingers raw to get in before the one of the cops opened the tomb for her to enter would've been creepier anyways.
