Cool story, and very lovely art. I almost feel bad for her. But maybe someone can hook her up with aquaman or the submariner.

What was with all of the mermaid lovin' back then? Even Superman had a mermaid girlfriend with Lori Lemaris. I've noticed this theme comes up a lot in old horror comic books.
