Satan's Woman Prize!

If you enjoyed the satanic shenanigans of our last post, wait until you see what we've got up our smoldering sleeves today, from the January - February 1954 winter issue of Eerie #14. This is kind of an interesting issue in that Norman Nodel and Vince Alascia teamed-up on art duties for all four comic stories contained herein, and also created the canoeing cover art together! Eerie #14 was also the last issue of this great Avon series to feature all original material, before dragging along for 3 more issues by simply reprinting Eerie 1, 2, and 3 (but with new cover art) in the exact same order as well.

I don't think Tanya's really that great of a "prize woman" for Satan if she only lived to be 18 and only got two men as her victims...

Any comic with red and blue colored girls is already halfway to home plate with me. I also really like the splash art here, those chunky Mignola-like demon shadows, and there's certainly no denying the power of that lightning strike climax, either. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the issue (whenever that happens). This is not a team of artists I'm not very familiar with, but the work here is definitely attention getting. Not so much this book's imprecise colorist, though.

The mythology of this thing is all over the satanic map! @Mestiere already caught Satan's problems, but what about "the vengeful lightning" which came from "force greater than evil", i.e., the Christian God. It's timing is awful and I have to say, how responsible is Tanya in this, really? OK, she's evil, but they weren't hypnotized, they were mesmerized, they decided to fight each other to the death for her. That's kind of on them!

Living in the universe of this comic it's be hard to be a believer, it seems both sides of our universal supernatural coin work in confusing and baffling ways!

I love the lightning panel -- right through the throat/heart!

Wow Mr. K. A real winner all around. I think the pencils and ink on this work beautifully. Some panels jump out at the reader. The imps butt, The kicked rock, the fall, and the comeuppance. I rate this one a gem.
Thank you Mr. K

Comic book logic, it puts Gallio logic to shame.

Fun but seems quite rushed in the writing.
