Finishing out our Weird Terrors Fest with a Double Header from the Nov. '53 issue of Weird Terror #8, the first gory tale from Marty Elkin, and the sweaty second one being of course from Rudy Palais (too soon for another Palais story at THOIA already??!! NEVER!) Another full issue down as well, the other stories from this one already in the Archive: "Blood of the Bat", also by Palais, and "Step into My Parlour" from Al Tewks .

"Mirror Image" reads like a tweaked adaptation of Ambrose Bierce's "The Man and the Snake".
I can't help thinking I've seen the first story somewhere before! (Now, nobody get upset: 1. It's a good one; and 2. *it was probably on another horror comic website; as I used to read several. However,as the owners never seemed to update or add anything, I stopped reading the ones in question! Maybe I'd better start again!)

"The Improved Kiss" may be the best title for any story ever.
the fine line between genius and madness? Palais walks it, sweating his ass off...

Definitely THE inspiration, Brandi... good eye.

Well if you find it or remember where you saw it let us know... obviously that blogger has swell taste in comics too.

I can think of a few ways to improve it more.

There was DEFINITELY no one like Palais. And before you go, take a second and trip on over to AEET for PHANTOM OF THE ROCK OPERA!

I don't know what I love more between that giant double-headed rattlesnake, the idea of dental plague, or the fact that Uncle Hugo's death filled the room with creepy fog. This is all like the crazy nightmare logic in ghost stories that kids make up. Solid gold.
here's the other version of The Improved Kiss - http://www.bloodypulptales.com/2011/08/vampire-flies-head-of-horror.html

Thanks Prof!
I agree, there can never be enough of the drippy Rudy Palais! As always, thanks for sharing.
