Opposite forces of the supernatural face-off in this very clever (and very funny) ghost story from the April - May 1950 issue of Adventures into the Unknown #10 ...this one would've made a really great Topper plot back in the day.
BONUS!

I have to admit, that story kept me guessing though about five pages. I'm not sure I've ever seen a witty little yarn like this not fall for a falsely clever Scoobie Doo-type ending. I'm impressed.
I'd like to see this be a forties movie. I mean, TOPPER works well, but I think I'd prefer the look and tone of one of those Red Skelton features, like WHISTLING DIXIE.
Haha, totally... and on a double bill with Henry Aldrich Haunts a House (which I think is one of the coolest and most underrated horror comedies of the 40's.)
Better yet, dig up Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy-- everything's better with a creepy puppet (and don't forget Mortimer!)
real nice
i can't think of anything scarier than a Republican ghost...
this was tops, more please.
Only 2 comments: Where was this ghost when Daley Sr. was Mayor of Chicago or Tweed was Mayor of New York? (Probably wrong town ANd still had a pulse/ wasn't even born yet? Or even here in South Bend, Indiana? (Not as bad las last 2 examples; but same group of Democrats have won for the last 30 or so years! AND we have ghost employment, same group of contractors win all of the road jobs, and we keep spending money on things like a downtown pedestrian mall (which wasn't used and didn't last!), The College Football Hall of Fame; (which didn't do any better than when it was near the Kings Island theme park in Ohio!); and "Coveleski Field" (South Bend Silver Hawks minor league baseball field; ex-mayor owns a piece)? They keep tearing down old houses and a historic synagogue for parking; and they just put in a big new facade; and the thing maybe paid off the bonds; NO PROFITS!)
(RANT OVER: ALL CLEAR!). Second thing; liked the ghost under the table with the record player! What was he/she(?) doing? Trying to be the last "Ecto-rap" DJ? :)
