Vision in Bronze

Holding back on cracking any obvious Iron Man jokes today, here's a nail bitin' Harvey tale from the March 1953 issue of Tomb of Terror #8. And fyi, fans of Eerie Publication reprints, this one was featured in Weird #v11#2 (1966 series) and redrawn as "The Man in the Heavy Metal Suit." It also appeared in Weird Vampire Tales #v4#3, (1979 series.)

And for those of you still reeling from our "Scary Sci-Fi Saturday Double Header" and in need of another flying saucer fix, zoom over to my other blog and check out-- Buster Brown Goes to Mars!

There's that "Agggrrraaaa!" again. It was nice of Dodds to leave a nice clean skeleton in that suit. Think about what would be in there if that really happened...

I think that iron suit was also filled with piranhas. They can obviously strip a man to his skeleton between panels even.

I was reading something the other day and one of the terrified characters went "GWAAAAAAARRRR!" which totally cracked me up... GWAR is pretty scary though.

haha, a great torture concept Mr C!

>Wonderful!

Thanks for stopping KW (and yeah that was me that bought a set of your Pukey Pals the other day-- can't wait to get them!)

More Harvey on the way... really hoping the comments will pick back up, it's alot of work putting this stuff together, and it's nice to know if anyone out there is still paying attention. So come on peeps, it's not gonna kill ya to drop a line or two!

This one made me go huh more than aggrrraaaa! I know it's madness to think too much about the madness of the storytelling, but...

He's afraid of the walking metal murder suit at night, but in the morning he can't wait to run down to the cellar and look inside it. He sells it again, so did the murder suit kill whoever he sold it to before?

The next to last panel draws our eyes first to a woman with an oddly shaped body. Then as we look at Dead Guy Walking and Selling Antiques we see that a huge scar is on his neck. Why? To remind us that he was a bag of bones who reanimated himself through hatred and a wish for revenge? So he could sell antiques?

I think the poor art wasn't strong enough to distract me from thinking about the plot. I did like the panel where he tosses the skull at the reader "Let his bones rot!"

Thanks for all your hard work Karswell. I wouldn't get to see this stuff if not for your great scanning and blogging skills!
