Awww, everyone loves babies! Wait. That's not how I wanted to introduce this story. The winning combination of Bruce Jones and Luis Bermejo teamed up for this cringe inducing classic, (also from the May 1976 issue of Creepy #79 like our last post), and whether or not you think it's cruel or pushing the bounds of taste, well... ooops! I didn't mean to say "taste" either.

Long time THOIA reader Trevor M requested more from the late great John Severin, (who passed away last month at the age of 90.) Trev even suggested a superb selection from the May 1976 issue of Creepy #79, and here it is-- a very funny jab at horror cliches, and what to do about them. If anyone wants to see more Creepy tales here just let me know, I have no problem keeping things black and white this month.

The Gossips! / Way to a Man's Heart

Ghoul Tales was yet another magazine sized collection of black and white pre-code horror reprints, this time from Stanley Publications. Lasting only 5 issues (November 1970 through July 1971), the two tales presented in this post are both from Ghoul Tales Vol. 1 #4, with the first originally appearing in the pages of Mister Mystery #13, and the second tale originally titled "Mother's Advice" and from Weird Mysteries #7 (thanks to our Anon reader for the confirmation!), both tales are illustrated by Tony Mortellaro. See the gruesome color version of "The Gossips!" in the THOIA Archive HERE!

Monster Howls (PART ONE)

THOIA honors the great John Severin who passed away earlier this month at the age of 90.
