Tales of the Invisible: Blood of a Monster

Today's 'Invisible' Scarlet O'Neil story is the start of a terror-filled two-parter featuring strong horror overtones about a horribly deformed, psychotic killer on the loose inside a spooky old aquarium. If you're unfamiliar with sassy Scarlet, her origins or powers, or series creator Russell Stamm, then please click HERE before you read this story (I'll have more bio info on Stamm in our next post too.) From the August 1952 issue of  Harvey Comics Hits #59 (originally titled "The Case of the Aquarium Murders" and reprinted from the January 1959 issue of Black Cat #15.)

    1. You're going to give us the rest *next time; aren't you? (Begging puppy dog eyes*.) :)

    2. The web site said that the author of these used to work on "Dick Tracy": well, lookig at the good doctor and the villian; I, for one, believe it! (Though, for a while. I thought the good Professor *was the villan*!

  4. Glad to see people are enjoying this one (I sometimes get my hand bitten when I deviate from the pre-code horror norm, so whew!) But yes, Scarlet O'Neil is one lovely lass, fighting the good fight in cute outfits and high heels, and rarely missing a beat when it comes to a terrific mystery! Stamm definitely knew how to draw, his unique style fits especially well with Chester Gould on Dick Tracy (as DBurch pointed out) and he was no slouch with dialog and interesting / cinematic 1940's thriller film style story pacing too!

Part Two is coming up this weekend, you definitely don't want to miss the end of this one!
