TOMORROW: Sci-Fi Horror Week Begins!
+++++++++++++++++++++++
House of Horror
As many of you know, I don’t usually post pre-code text stories, but I thought this one was pretty good, (and also from the March 1953 issue of Web of Evil #3.) It's short, to the point and spooky, with just a touch of supernatural grisliness. Check it out, you won't be sorry...
HaHa!. I love it when villains brag about their evil deeds. "Don't forget my 4 husbands". Great stuff to help shake off an Eggnogg/Jack Daniels hangover.
ReplyDeleteIt was for the best. Look at that mirror scene on page 5 - them natural-born Maynards was vampires, sure as eggnog!
ReplyDeleteWITH ONE MORE PANELS OR EVEN A ANOTHER PAGE SHOWING HER TERROR OF BEING LOCKED IN THE MORGUE THIS WOULDN'T HAVE FELT SO RUSHED AT THE END BUT STILL A COOL TALE AND LOVED THE ART AND COLORING.
ReplyDeleteTHE HOUSE OF HORROR STORY WAS SURPRISINGLY GOOD TOO! I NEVER READ THOSE EITHER BUT NOW MAYBE I'LL START.
AND THANKS FOR THE BLOOD FREAK NEWS TOO, NEVER SAW IT BUT IT SOUNDS HYSTERICAL. POLTERGEIST IS AWESOME
Blood Freak is just as good as Poltergeist- in it's own way...
ReplyDeletedid TCM pair those up because both films have people smoking pot and giggling in them?
Thanks to the handful of you that stopped by today, and don't forget tomorrow marks the start of our Sci Fi Horrors Week... those of you that have been with me from the beginning know that means more horror than science.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Web of Evil stories, the consistant art reminds me of a more talented bullpen than even the Iger shop over at Superior. The Quality Pub team might actually be more on par with EC than Atlas, not saying they're better just equally talented. Any thoughts?
