Here’s an obnoxiously deranged little gem from the July 1954 issue of Weird Mysteries #11 , proving: “With great power comes even greater irresponsibility.” Includes a wonderfully catchy little ditty in the final panel that you’ll be singing for days on end! [Pity no one seems to know who the artist is-- that is one wacky splash panel! -- Nequam]
seems like my favorite precode storys are the ones like this that have a funny but twisted ending
ReplyDeletevoodoo hoodoo!!!!
THEY SHOULD PUT "WITH GREAT POWER COMES EVEN GREATER IRRESPONSIBILITY" ONTO T-SHIRTS, THATS GREAT! HA HA, KILLER STORY!!
ReplyDeleteWell, the art isn't the greatest,at least it's serviceable though, and the freakout expressions are great.what I dont get is why he decides to kill everyone, heck,i'd use the cover of people not believing in me(hmmm, now where did i hear that before?)to get ahead,Kendall probably just wanted life insurance or something, but either way,the song more than makes up for it.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to pre-code horror throw logic to the wind I say...
ReplyDeleteALL I HAVE TO SAY IS CAST A SPELL AND CHANT A CURSE NOW YOUR READY FOR THE HEARSE!
